Sunday 7th June - Hughenden

Sunday 7th June

On Sunday we drove to Hughenden. When we got there we went to the Information centre and we saw a Muttaburrasaurus skeleton replica.
This is me with the replica.
After the Information centre we went to a playground. In the playground the monkey bars were so low that I couldn't hang from them.
This is me not swinging on the monkey bars.
Mum's note:
Before we left Richmond to drive to Hughenden, we stopped at Kronosaurus Korner to have a second look in the museum. Given the last few days, we were interested to see the ichthyosaurus fossils again.
"Wilson" the ichthyosaur. See how his teeth have all fallen out?
When we got to Hughenden we were greeted by Mutt the full size Muttaburrasaurus.
Mutt the Muttaburrasaurus.
Hughenden has a number of fossil related art pieces around the township.
I liked this ammonite made of windmill blades.
We spent some time in the Flinders Discovery Centre, where they had a collection of things found in the same pits as Richmond as where we found the ichthyosaurus. One of the things most interesting was this shark dorsal fin spine fossil.

Caleb would like to show everyone his monster truck. He has had it for ages, but has just discovered that if set up correctly, it flips over when it is pushed.

  1. Amazing stuff. Saw much of this a couple of years ago but you are finding a lot more than I did. Keep having fun. Grandpa.
