Thursday 7th May
On Thursday we went to the beach. It
was cold and I didn't want to go. We found a crab it was camouflaged.
Can you see it ? I saw it.
I also saw fossilised mud that looked like
Dinosaur skin.
I also saw lots of limpits and baby-mussels.
Mum's note:
We are in Inverloch because this is the only working dinosaur fossil dig site in Victoria. We searched the beach but were unable to find the one dinosaur footprint advertised. Other fossils are removed as soon as they are found (for preservation, as the fossil site lies in the intertidal region). We did see evidence of removals. We also found a lot of fossilised wood, and found out that pterosaur fossils are found here but are very rare due to the fragile nature of their bones.
